Made in 1896, this is one of the earliest comedy films that has survived. A man is fishing and is pulled into the water by the fish. A passer-by dives in to rescue and resuscitate him. The film makes early use of a reverse motion shot for continuity and comedy purposes and shows an early use of editing as well for continuity. Director, cameraman and performers unknown.
