Liam and Ava live far from civilization with their young son, Aru. When Liam returns from a hunting trip to discover signs of a bear, and the lifeless body of his wife, he is left alone with his child. Convinced that the wild is no place for a boy, Liam embarks on a perilous horseback journey to find someone he can trust with Aru’s future. As father and son venture deeper into the wilderness, their journey becomes a meditation on grief, survival and the meaning of paternal instinct.
