With Donald Trump's victory imminent, thousands of Haitian migrants in Mexico are rushing toward the northern border before the humanitarian asylum program ends. Jak and his father, who work at a butcher shop in Mexico City, join this race against time after receiving confirmation of their asylum appointment in the United States. But while his father clings to the hope of a new beginning, Jak faces the memory of his mother's death, something he cannot seem to let go of.
