Season 1

Actor Peter Davison, presenter John Sergeant and steam buff Paul Middleton join forces, as they attempt to travel from London to Scotland using only the power of steam.

The trio travel from Peterborough aboard the 92 Squadron steam train, then visit the original Thomas the Tank Engine in Wandsford and take a steam barge up the Grand Union Canal.

The intrepid trio continue their journey: first on a 21-foot steam launch called Bruin, then driving a 1908 Stanley steam car, and taking in a visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

John, Peter and Piglet are on the last leg of their journey: from Whitby to the Scottish border. They travel by 1937 Steam Lorry, train, a steam launch and a beautiful steam car.
