With home prices soaring, the Kalamas head to Hawaii's Big Island to prove affordable island living still exists. But when Kamohai buys land near an active lava zone, they're forced into a high-risk build where paradise may come at a dangerous price.

After a friend brings a deal in exchange for a 50/50 partnership, the Kalamas take on a 4,000-square-foot A-frame overlooking Pearl Harbor. But when surprise design upgrades are added mid-reno, finances and friendships are put to the test.
