Years of war and Nazi occupation. By accident, the young man - Henryk joins a partisan unit and is involved in underground work.

Henryk connects his fate with the fate of the Soviet landing group - after completing the task, the group is to return by air to the USSR. A sudden attack by the Germans destroys all plans.

After the war. A Henryk in the uniform of a Soviet Army officer returns to his hometown.
