Statistically speaking, Australia’s beloved journalist and 5-time Logie winner, Ray Martin, would be dead in 4 years. Actually, because he is male, take another 2 years off. That leaves a short window to plan his funeral and yet- has he done so? Alas, no. In fact, like most Australians, he’s barely given it much thought.
01. Episode 1
Ray Martin meets morticians, medical students, undertakers and death deniers to better understand people's relationship to death as he begins planning his own funeral.
02. Episode 2
Ray Martin looks at how people go out, including cremation, burial and more modern approaches, and thinks about where he might like to be laid to rest.
03. Episode 3
Ray Martin looks into the rituals around funeral ceremonies, from Samoan farewell songs to heavy metal mosh pits and explosive firework shows, and chooses one for his own funeral.
