Breekpunt is a tennis drama about a gutsy teenager fighting for the chance to compete in international tennis.

Brad Samson, the legendary coach of South Africa's tennis star Malcolm Davids, offers to coach Ashleigh. However, unable to ask her dad to pay, Ash sets about looking for other ways to fund her future.

Carl's crisis escalates to a point of no return, while Ashleigh's coach makes it clear there isn't enough time to improve her technique. When Ash follows Brad's game plan, the consequences are devastating.

Ashleigh struggles with the loss of her friendship with Palesa, the near loss of her brother, and the end of her tennis dream. Several months later, she is finally given a chance to get back into tennis.

While pretending to her dad to be studying at university, Ashleigh is back in tennis training, hoping to qualify for the All-Africa Open. Brad Samson pushes her to her limits, and she uses illicit means to survive the pressure.

Ash summons Carl from Cape Town to help save Malcolm's life. With Ashleigh having missed her last chance to reach the ranking she needed to qualify for the Africa Open, Malcolm devises a plan to get her seen by the wild card selectors.

While Ashleigh and Palesa face off in the play-off match that will see the winner get into the All-Africa Open, Lorenzo enlists his crew to throw the match in Ashleigh's favour, hoping to prove his love for her.
