As the season begins, the family teams have to guess the flavors of the iconic road food meat pies. The home cooks are also challenged to portray the family with a plate of holiday food.

Hertzoggie? Skurwejantjie? Lepelsteeljie? First the Kokkedores warm up their baking muscles blindfolded, after which they have to impress Andriette Georgiou from Mondvol with creative pop-up beach cookies.

The braai fires are lit for Kokkedoortjie winner Edwin Theron who brings cordon bleu to a steak braai. The chefs bake braai pies and create innovative camping food with flair.

As storm clouds gather, the Kokkedores challenge each other in a pancake race with a huge time advantage. One-pot dishes from the days before the internet unleash a fox in the henhouse.

On Christmas Eve, a children's choir stirs the heartstrings. However, not everyone in the Kokkedore shares the same sentiment for the traditions of the Christmas table, especially fruitcake and cake truffles.

The luxurious cold meats and salads from the Christmas table are transformed into gourmet sandwiches, the generation teams show their true colors with savory pie and layered salad and Hannes van Wyk as picnic guest.

Tinned fish and a pizza oven come to the rescue. For one team, Chef Reuben Riffel's seafood platter is the challenge that sinks their boat in the tense semi-final round.

The family teams look to their favorite party eras for inspiration for the Big Kick-Off with 50 guests in festive spirits. The best new-generation harvest table will determine the Golden Rooster winning team.
