Vinkie realizes, after playing a trick on Bas, that he is very lonely. Costa also has a longing for female company after a long time alone at sea.

Tensions are running high among the crew of De Kleine Griet after a long journey together.

After a major error of judgment by Arnoud, which jeopardizes his position at the V.O.C., Wim decides to help him.
