Season 1

Kenshin Himura survives a vicious bandit raid to be taken under the tutelage of master swordsman, Soujiro Hiko the 13th. Forged to be a weapon for justice, Kenshin becomes a tool for revolutionary interests as a hired assassin whose fate will become bound to Tomoe, the widow of man he has slain.

Kenshin's role in the revolution is detailed. Tomoe is recruited to offer companionship to Kenshin. Shogunate soldiers attack the Choshu Clan.

Kenshin and Tomoe live in hiding as husband and wife. A traitor is revealed.

Kenshin is betrayed. Tomoe makes a choice. The Hitokiri Battosai is born.
