Conor, Jock and Mairéad, always tight on cash, come up with a hare-brained idea to become business owners as they buy a second hand chip van to try make extra money.

Billy Murphy enlists the help of Conor, Jock, and eventually Mairéad, to avoid getting killed by a former cellmate of his who has just been released from prison.

The baby is due and everyone is frustrated with the nonstop arguing of both families, so an ill-advised weekend break for all is organised.
