While planning to stage new Korean plays in Joseon, Kim U-jin meets music student Yun Sim-deok, who wonders why he'd risk doing so under Japanese rule.

Sim-deok wants to know about U-jin’s dream and decides to go with the theater troupe to visit his family home in Mokpo, where a surprise awaits her.
